Happy Rolph’s Animal Farm

Happy Rolph’s Animal farm is a fun, free animal viewing and park exploration experience for the whole family! See a variety of farm animals up close and experience diverse birds and plants in an all-natural, outdoor setting. You can also enjoy viewing areas on the shores of Lake Ontario or alongside two ponds!

Shopping at Outlet Collections at Niagara

Shop ‘til you drop at the outlet collection bringing brand name fashion and lifestyle retailers to you at outlet prices. Our favourite place to shop, the outlets feature over 100 brands including Aritzia, Nike Factory Store, Kate Spade New York, Brooks Brothers Factory Store, Coach, Michael Kors, and more.

NEOB Lavender Boutique

Adventurers, nature enthusiasts and flower lovers can all find joy at the recently opened lavender farm and essential oil experience of NEOB. Check out this space with over 20,000 lavender plants and 2 acres of pick-your-own flower opportunities. You may even find more for us to press for you or some flowers to press for yourself during your visit. 

Lock 3

Head over to Lock 3 to watch boats in the canal. This area is home to the St. Catherine’s Museum and Welland Canals Centre. You can also check out the Canal Viewing Platform to spend the day watching ships transit the Welland Canal in a tranquil park-like setting. 

Sunset beach 

Situated along the shore of Lake Ontario on the Waterfront Trail, Sunset Beach has 365 metres of sandy beach to enjoy. As you can probably guess from the name, this space is known for a nice sunset to wrap up a day in the Niagara region. 

Niagara Golf & Batting Cages

Feeling sporty? Bring your swing and head over to the family-friendly Niagara Golf and Batting Cages. Golf and baseball fans alike can have fun using the driving range and batting cages!

Niagara Falls Air Tours

Take your sight-seeing to new heights with Niagara Falls Air Tours, a breathtaking way to experience Niagara Falls. The Grand Niagara Air Tour takes you to 12 historical and geological marvels in the Niagara Region – it’s perfect for celebrating a special occasion with a unique adventure. 

Sunshine Express Garden Centre 

As floral preservation artists, it would be wrong for us to not highlight one of our favourite nearby plant shops. This family owned and operated business have been around since 1988. We love heading to this spot to pick up seasonally available annuals, perennials, herbs, nursery stock, fruits and vegetables. 

Places for Food and Drinks

Avondale Dairy Bar

Who doesn’t love ice cream? A Niagara institution, Avondale Dairy Bar has been serving the best ice cream in the area since 1955. Sit outside and relax in rural Niagara farm country and enjoy the regions finest ice cream made on site while kids play on the swings. Check out the background of a working dairy farm with 90 cows, cornfields and vineyards while enjoying your sweet treats. 

Colaneri Estate Winery

It wouldn’t be a list of Niagara-on-the-lake spots without highlighting some wineries! Colaneri is one of the most beautiful spots in the region that gives off major European energy. We love stopping by to have a glass of wine and slice of delicious pizza on their Piazza. 

Palatine Hills Estate Winery

If you love good wine without a pretentious nature, Palatine Hills Estate Winery is a must visit. Located in the heart of Niagara-On-The-Lake, Palatine Hills considers themselves a gathering place for travellers and adventurers alike, ready to experience hospitality in the great outdoors. Their laidback atmosphere, great wine, and many events makes it a must-stop spot in the summer! 

Ravine Vineyard Estate Winery

Can you call yourself a food and wine lover if you haven’t stopped at Ravine during your Niagara visits of the past? This award-winning estate is known for its wines and world-class farm-to-table dining experience. Situated in the heart of St. Davids, the beautiful property offers an escape from the hustle and bustle of every day with the convenience of a location minutes from the QEW. We highly recommend making reservations for a meal at Ravine when you’re around. 

Wayne Gretzky Estates

Come to celebrate the great one, stay for the wine and whisky. A perfect winery to visit all year round, with its pond that turns into a skating rink during the winter, Wayne Gretzky Estates offers wine and whisky tastings. This is an ideal spot to bring the hockey or whisky lover in your life when visiting the region. 

Trius Winery

Looking for a winery that offers an experience? Look no further than Trius. Renovations in recent years have made Trius a go-to stop for people looking for Instagrammable moments while on their wine tours. This has become a popular spot for bachelorette parties and more, so be sure to book in advance if you want to check out the places you’ve seen so many pictures of online.  

BarrelHead at Pillitteri

One of our favourite summer spots for amazing pizza and wine! BarrelHead has a great patio and wood-fired, artisanal-style pizzas made with fresh local ingredients. Wine club members of Pillitteri get reservation access for this space – if you’re planning to visit more than once it may be a good option to get on the list. 

Ironwood Cider House

More of a cider guy or gal? Ironwood Cider House is a great spot for cider lovers visiting Niagara. Celebrate arts, community, and diversity in Niagara-on-the-Lake with a unique mix of ciders and wine at Ironwood. Pints and flights are available with 10+ ciders on draft along with fruit wines. They even have a pet-friendly patio!

Niagara Oast House Brewery

A fun spot and classic stop for beer lovers! Niagara Oast House’s signature barn was originally raised in the late 1800s. Today, it serves as a facility to brew great beer and house a number of unique spaces, including the tasting room aka the Beer Shed, an event space aka The Hayloft, and Niagara’s coolest outdoor Patio. Check it out for tastings, a German Bier Hall experience or beers and delicious BBQ on the patio!

Grist

After a long day of adventure and winery hopping, the Grist is a favourite local stop for yummy food and a cute vibe. Best known for their pizza, they also offer sandwiches, burgers, and more. Check this spot out for a tasty dinner and often live music. 

MJ’s Own Munchies

Starting as a family-owned fry truck in May 2003, the team at MJ’s has prided themselves on making everything fresh daily for over 20 years. They’ve transformed the fry truck into a local staple and tourist destination that is now open all year round. Feel like a local when you stop by for fries, homemade burgers, deep-fried Mars bars, and more!
